Nature 101: Bark & Branches

Don't let the lack of leaves scare you. Join the Highlands Nature Center to learn how to identify common trees in the winter. We will review a few tricks before exploring the Botanical Gardens and putting our sleuthing skills to work. Each week we will have a different seasonal topic. Be prepared to go outside rain or shine! Fridays, 10 am - 11 am Free, children of all abilities welcome. No registration necessary, and you are not required to come to every session. Come to as many or as few as you would like! Adults must attend with their children. Snow Moon Walk

The snow on Saturday, Feb. 8th forced us to reschedule this event to Friday, Feb. 14th. Bundle up and bring your flashlight to wander through the garden hand in hand this Valentine's Day on this one night only. After you explore the winter forest, join us for hot drinks and warm up by our fire in the Meadow by the Valentine House (888 Horse Cove Road). Free, all ages welcome. Walks are self-guided. In the case of rain or severe weather, this event will be canceled. Check our Facebook page for updates on this event.
