Workshops are the short course in every good sense: a compressed, hands-on introduction led by someone who knows the subject cold. No background required, no exams, no semester-long commitment — come for a day, leave seeing the mountains differently.

They fill quickly, and they are the easiest way to spend real time with a specialist in the field.

  • Botany Bootcamp

    Short lectures and hands-on work introducing the remarkable plant diversity of the Highlands Plateau.

  • Beginning Bird Identification

    Song, silhouette, and habit — the three ways to know a bird before you get the binoculars up.

  • Nature Journaling in the Gardens

    Drawing and writing as tools for looking harder, taught among the collections.
