2022 Summer Camps

Important Information

We’re gearing up for a wonderful summer full of camps at the Highlands Nature Center, and we hope your camper will be able to join us!

Camp dates are available below and are in order by age groups. Please note that each camp lasts four days (Tuesday – Friday). This year, each of our younger camp sessions has been expanded by 1 hour! That means your camper will have even more time to connect to nature, foster an appreciation for the environment, and learn about the many things that make the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau so unique.

You can sign up for our e-newletters HERE to be notified of any updates.

COVID-19 Precautions

We take the health of our campers and staff seriously. We will be implementing a COVID-19 protocol that follows guidance from the Town of Highlands, Western Carolina University, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and the American Camp Association. Our current COVID-19 policies are being updated for the 2022 season. Please note that campers may be required to wear face masks during the duration of our camps. We will be sure to include all policy updates in our camp information packets which will be sent out prior to the beginning of each camp. Check back here at a later time to preview the most recent updates as they become available.

Special Needs

Our primary goal is providing safety and a positive camp experience for all. Camp staff is unable to provide one-on-one supervision for a special needs situation, but we would be happy to assist the family in making those arrangements with a care facilitator of your choice. Parents/Guardians are asked to discuss this need with our Education Specialist, Holly Theobald, prior to registration at 828.526.2623
